You can launch a windsurfer anywhere that you have public access to the waters edge. The most popular locations for sea sailing are Steamer Point at Highcliffe and Avon Beach at Mudeford. For flat water sailing in Christchurch Harbour launch from Mudeford Quay. All 3 locations have good car parks near the water.
Windsurfing In the Lymington area
You are limited where you can launch a windsurfer in the western Solent. The most popular locations are Keyhaven to the west of Lymington and Lepe Country Park to the east. It is worth making the drive further east to Calshot and Southampton Water or heading west to Chewton Bunny at Highcliffe.
Windsurfing in Bournemouth Bay
You can launch a windsurfer anywhere that you have public access to the waters edge. Be aware of bathers and follow lifeguards instructions. The most popular locations for sea sailing are near to Hengistbury Head Car Park, Boscombe Pier, Durley Chine and Alum Chine. If you like sailing in front of a crowd there is always Bournemouth Pier.

You can launch a windsurfer anywhere that you have public access to the waters edge. Be aware of bathers and follow lifeguards instructions. The most popular locations for sea sailing are Shore Road and the sea side of the Sandbanks peninsula. Good launching places near to public car parks for flat water sailing include Baiter Park, Hamworthy Park, Shore Road and the harbour side of the Sandbanks peninsula.
Windsurfing in Studland & Swanage
You can launch a windsurfer anywhere that you have public access to the waters edge. Good launching places near to public car parks include the first car park as you come off the Sandbanks ferry and Knoll Beach National Trust car park (be aware that both of these locations have offshore winds in the prevailing South Westerly winds) and the seafront at Swanage. For wave sailing experts only head west to Kimmeridge.
